Getting ripped off

Ok so my honey's son gave her a 94 chevy s-10 Blazer 4x4 w/V-6 motor.
It's in grate shape not a scratch has new tires, and clean as a whistle inside
out. There was only one thing that needed fixed. His step dad striped and cracked
the intake manifold where the thermostat goes. Well I thought, "not a big deal I
can fix that". So I called around and know body had one. I finally called a chevy
dealer and sure enough they have one. FOR $1400 STINKING DOLLARS".
Jeez man that's such a rip, dontcha think? I know I'll find one somewhere, just
going to take some time.

$1400 for an intake manifold??? wtf! go buy one from a performance shop, it'll be cheaper than factory replacement.

Ah sorry man. I found an after market manifold for $298 even has the O2 sensor for DEQ.
Thought about getting one from a junk yard but they all are asking $120 to $150. Plus
you don't really know what kind of shape it in. I think the extra money is worth the peace of mind of knowing the new one is new and
comes with a warranty.
