Really cool info on X-Fire. I've never used it, but after reading this article I'm tempted:

I used to use it, stopped after that xfire in game was added since it annoyed me. Teamspeak/ventrillo > xfire :P

I always thought it was cool that it tracked how many hours you played a game.

That served to be a very bad thing for me when I was "doing school work" :P

Yeah...just an instant messenger that apparently has the ability to pop up inside a game window.

I always thought for DoW it was brilliant. I could log on and if someone was playing DoW, rather than sitting in the lobby waiting around I could msg them and ask if they were up for a game when they were done... For Counterstrike it rocks because you see one of your friends on the server, click the auto-join feature and it automatically loaded the game and connected me to the server they were on.... So easy! Add that to it automatically downloads the latest patches for all the games you have installed so you never have to worry about it. And some AWESOME movies, the best demo's etc. etc.
Seriously, if you're a gamer and you don't have Xfire.... YOU SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF YOURSELF!
End rant! :P

My issue is that I already run enough crap in the background, not sure if I want to give up a little more RAM for yet another.

some brillant programmer wrote something like this for his old ut guild once and it worked pretty well. All kidding aside xfires not bad if you don't mind seeing how much you play games.
