Does anyone use this OS. I'm thinking about installing it on one of my pc's. If you do I wouldnt mind getting some advice on anything you think might help with installation. Like partitioning and what packages I should install and should I do a GUI or advanced install. Things like that.

Wish I could help. I'm using RH Enterprise on my server. I gave my spare PC I was using for Linux installs away (to family) a while back and havent had anything to load a Linux OS on since.

Ok well I installed fc6 but not really the normal way. I installed it through Virtual PC. Anyway, at the end it said all was fine, but when I rebooted it comes up into the command prompt instead of taking me to the gui. any ideas why.

just execute the command that starts the gui:

startx

used without any options like that it will start in 256 color mode.

I tried that but the gfx are so bad I can't see well enough to do anything. I updated yum and did (yum list) to find any ati drivers but I dont know the the switch to make the text stop one screen at a time. I'm such a tard at this man.

why did you set it up as a virtual machine? no spare PCs to load it on?

Because the one's I have running now are set up to do certain things and I don't want to bother them. Could just stick a spare hdd in one of them and do it that way.
